Post These
cast iron Police Posts allowed officers on patrol to keep
in touch with their home station before personal radios. The
public could also use the telephone in emergencies.
When a call was made from
the station the light would flash and the bell would ring
to attract the officers attention.
The post is fully restored
with original Bakelite telephone, drop down writing ledge
and locking compartments.
There are two liveries,
light blue City of London (pictured) or dark blue Metropolitan
Police.
An example of this rare
piece can be found in Piccadilly Circus.
